Our Story
We Make It Matter is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit on a mission to make mental wellness tools free, private, and accessible to everyone — no subscriptions, no ads, no data selling. Ever.
The Story Behind WMIM
A father — brilliant, driven, the kind of man who solved problems before others even saw them — slowly losing himself. Not to weakness. To decades of carrying weight in silence. Of pushing through. Of being the one who held it together for everyone else while quietly falling apart inside. By the time anyone noticed, the damage was done.
His daughter became a founder. She carried that memory into every room she walked into — every leadership offsite, every late-night conversation, every moment a high-achieving professional admitted quietly that they had not slept properly in months. The pattern was everywhere. People performing fine on the outside while invisible weight piled up inside.
The tools that existed were expensive, clinical, or buried behind paywalls built for people who already had time, money, and the language to ask for help. What did not exist was something simple, private, and free — something that met you exactly where you were, without judgment.
So they built it. Not as a startup chasing growth. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, with one promise: that no one's ability to take care of their mental health would ever depend on what they could afford. Because burnout is not a personal failure. It is a collective wound. And no one should have to carry it alone.
Our Mission
To empower individuals and communities to prioritize mental wellness through tools that are free, private, and built with care.
We believe that when people understand their emotional patterns, name what they are feeling, and build small daily habits, something quietly powerful happens. They show up differently — for themselves and for the people around them.
What Guides Us
Our Impact
Real People. Real Stories.
I never thought I would be someone who journals, but this app made it feel safe. There is no pressure, no audience. It has helped me spot patterns I never noticed before.
Finding a free, private space to track how I am feeling has been life-changing. I love that it does not try to sell me something. It just helps.
Where We Work
Our team spans two continents, combining Silicon Valley perspective with South Asian sensibility to build something that truly works for a global audience.
